TWO DAYS TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP BEGINS FOR NAVTTC PROGRAM STUDENTS AT SHAIKH AYAZ UNIVERSITY, SHIKARPUR

Two days’ workshop on” TEAM BUILDING” begins at Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur on Tuesday, 21st June 2022. Renowned HSE and Security management consultant from Alpha Connect, Eng. Muhammad Asim Butt graced the occasion as guest speaker. The participants of workshop are students of NAVTTC program.
In his talk and interactive session with students, Mr. Butt briefed importance of Health, Safety and Environment. He shared key concepts and techniques of HSE that included emergency response planning, Proactive identification of major risks & hazards and their control measures, security threat assessment, three second rule for driving, three minutes rule for firefighting etc. In order to provide practical exposure, students witnessed different videos related to security risk and management. He emphasized on development of health and safety culture in organizations. He said in my thirty years long experience I have witnessed, Shaikh Ayaz University as first university working on establishing HSE department. Although in advanced countries HSE department is as essential part as other departments like finance and administration. He also appreciated neat and clean students, employee’s friendly environment of the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. G. Raza Bhatti said developing health, safety and nature friendly environment culture is one of the important goals of newly established university. He said, because of this reason water treatment plant and waste management area has been made part of university master plan. He said, we are trying our level best to provide safe and secure environment not only with in the university but in future, we will extend it to surroundings, so that society could get benefit of it. He said purpose of organizing such workshops is to aware students, staff and employees in order to influence behavior for safer environment.
In last worth Vice Chancellor thanked guest speaker for very informative session and presented cultural gift of ‘Ajrak’. He also requested guest speaker to conduct separate HSE session for staff and employees that was held followed by this session.
Tomorrow on second day of workshop students will be engaged through hands on activities on health, safety and environment.
