Flowers Day
The Flower Show was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, who cut the ceremonial ribbon amidst warm applause from faculty members, students, media representatives, and distinguished guests. The inauguration marked the commencement of a vibrant exhibition featuring a diverse array of seasonal flowers, ornamental plants, and artistically designed floral arrangements that reflected both aesthetic sensibility and environmental consciousness.
In his address to media personnel, the Vice Chancellor articulated that the fundamental objective of organizing the Flower Show in the spring season was to cultivate and refine the aesthetic sense among students. He eloquently remarked that the appreciation of nature’s beauty is an inherent quality of human beings — a distinguishing attribute that elevates humanity above other forms of life. “To recognize and cherish beauty,” he observed, “is a refined human faculty, one that nourishes the soul and strengthens our emotional and intellectual capacities.”
He further emphasized that such co-curricular and creative activities are essential for fostering innovation, imagination, and a deeper connection with the natural environment among youth. By engaging students in meaningful interactions with nature, the university seeks to promote not only academic growth but also emotional maturity and environmental responsibility.
Highlighting the university’s long-term environmental vision, the Vice Chancellor shared that the main campus, currently under construction, is being thoughtfully planned with ecological sustainability in mind. He informed the media that the university has formally contacted the Forest Department to collaborate in developing the campus landscape with diverse varieties of plants, trees, and flowers. This initiative, he stated, aims to enhance the environmental beauty of the campus and to establish a serene, green academic environment conducive to learning and reflection.
Following his address, the Vice Chancellor, accompanied by members of the faculty, participated in a symbolic tree plantation activity within the university premises. The planting of saplings served as a living affirmation of the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
