Director's Message

As the Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell, I would like to express my gratitude to my higher-ups for this new responsibility. The role of QEC in a university is pivotal, as it strives for continuous improvement in quality education.

As per the directions of the Higher Education Commission, Shaikh Ayaz University established the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) in 2019 on the directives of our Worthy Vice Chancellor.

Functions of QEC

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) performs the following key functions:

Functions
  • Promote Public Confidence – Ensure that the quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded.
  • Review Teaching & Learning – Review quality standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
  • Review Academic Affiliations – Review academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.
  • Define Clear Standards – Define clear standards as reference for reviews, and help employers know what to expect from candidates.
  • Develop Qualifications Framework – Develop a qualifications framework setting out attributes and abilities expected from Bachelor’s, Bachelor with Honors, Master’s, M.Phil., and Doctoral candidates.
  • Develop Program Specifications – Provide information clarifying knowledge, understanding, skills, and other attributes a student will develop through a specific program.
  • Develop Quality Assurance Processes – Develop methods of evaluation to ensure quality and standards are maintained, and foster curriculum, staff development, research, and scholarly activities.
 
  • Align with National Arrangements – Ensure that the university's quality assurance procedures fit with national arrangements for maintaining and improving higher education.
