Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Soomro

Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Soomro is a renowned academic, researcher, and educator known for his contributions to management sciences, economics, commerce, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. He currently serves as a Full Professor of Management Sciences (BPS-21) and Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences and Commerce at Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur. His academic and administrative tenure spans esteemed institutions in Karachi, including Dow University of Health Sciences, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, and Hamdard University, among others. Notable roles held include Director of IBHM at Dow University of Health Sciences, Chairman of various departments, and Director of Student Affairs at SMIU. With over 23 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration at the university level, he has been actively involved in higher education, academic research, professional mentoring, and scholarly development in Pakistan and internationally. He holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in Management, MS in Management, MBA in Finance, and MA in Economics from various universities. He has served as a member of Academic Councils, ASRBs, Board of Faculty, and Board of Studies of different universities in Karachi. His research work focuses on entrepreneurship, women empowerment, digital literacy, sustainability, small business development, organizational performance, and digital media strategies. He has contributed to research publications in collaboration with international scholars, particularly in areas related to entrepreneurial orientation, brand sustainability, and digital transformation in emerging economies. He has published over 32 scholarly publications in national and international impact factor journals .Prof. Dr. Soomro has chaired multiple national and international conferences and served as an examiner for MS/PhD programs at SZABIST, Karachi, Bahria University, Hamdard University, and multiple other universities. He has guided students and researchers in developing practical and research-based solutions for contemporary business and social challenges, showcasing his strong interest in teaching, supervision, public speaking, and academic leadership.
