IFAD-NPGP high level delegation visits TSAUS
A High level delegation led by Mr.Muhammad Fazal, Program Director NPGP, Mr. Ahsan Riaz, Operation Manager NPGP along with SRSO management and representatives from NRSP Sindh, TRDP NRSP Balochistan and BRSP across Pakistan visited The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur
The purpose of the visit was to review the ongoing four-month short course training program offered by the National Poverty Graduation Program (NPGP) on “Digital Skills and E-Commerce”. This program is a flagship project of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Government of Pakistan being funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The program is being implemented by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) and The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur.
Prof. Dr. G.Raza Bhatti, Vice Chancellor Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur and his team welcomed the delegation and took them to visit Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities including the smart classroom, data center and Library and Information Center. It was followed by an introductory meeting and briefing about the vision, mission, society connectivity programs, infrastructure development, and academic roadmap of the university.
Later on delegation visited computer Labs, where they interacted with trainees and the trainers. The trainees under this program are BISP beneficiary children that including twenty-one female and twenty-nine male students. All trainees are from rural areas of Shikarpur district. During classes visit trainers briefed the delegation week-wise contents of the course and plan to make this initiative successful. The delegation appreciated the student’s confidence, interest in learning, future plan to utilize training outcomes and active participation. Trainees thanked IFAD, MoPASS GOP, NPGP team, SRSO and The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur administration under the leadership of Prof. Dr. G. Raza Bhatti for providing the opportunity
Program Director, NPGP Mr. Muhammad Fazal and the delegation were pleased to witness conducive education and trainees’ friendly environment. They were also delighted to see a climate-resilient, neat and clean campus. They also appreciated and thanked Sindh Rural Support Organization for identifying, Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur as implementing partner. The delegation showed full satisfaction with the smooth running of the program and extra-ordinary facilities being provided to trainees.
